Vivint Solar Vice President, Erica Dahl, Selected As One Of Utah Business' "30 Women To Watch"
| Press Release
Erica Dahl is recognized for notable government and community relation contributions in financial, healthcare and energy industries
LEHI, Utah, May 17, 2017 -- Vivint Solar (NYSE: VSLR), a leading full-service residential solar provider, today announced that its vice president of public policy and government affairs, Erica Dahl, has been selected as a winner of Utah Business’ “30 Women to Watch” award.
As Vivint Solar’s first full-time leader dedicated to government affairs, Dahl has created a government affairs program from the ground up to help ensure the rate design and regulatory structures in the 16 states in which Vivint Solar operates empower customers to choose rooftop solar affordably and reliably. In the company’s home state of Utah, her leadership and contributions on the policy front resulted in the passage of legislation to increase the availability of power purchase agreements (PPAs) and provide greater access to residential solar for residents of homeowners associations. She also worked to reverse a proposal that would have greatly increased costs to solar customers, which threatened to devastate the solar industry in the state.
“Erica is an incredibly important asset to our company,” said David Bywater, CEO at Vivint Solar. “She is brilliant at what she does and is the key to helping our company and our industry navigate a complex, continually evolving regulatory landscape. Erica brings great energy to our team and our cause and her skills are vital to our company’s ongoing success. I can think of no one more deserving of this award.”
Prior to Vivint Solar, Dahl spent a decade as the first director of community relations for Intermountain Healthcare’s largest region. Building out a strategy to improve the state’s largest private employer’s connections to external stakeholders was critical to the organizations’ commitment to serve the unmet medical needs of Utah’s most vulnerable populations.
Dahl also served as vice president of government relations for Bank of America in San Francisco, where she was responsible for government relations over a seven-state region. One of her most successful legislative initiatives involved spearheading the company’s efforts to defeat the gross receipts tax in Nevada, resulting in saving millions of dollars in additional tax liability.
“I’m honored to be receiving this recognition from Utah Business,” said Dahl. “Leading policy at Vivint Solar challenges me and allows me to work collaboratively with great business and policy makers to lobby for an industry that I’m passionate about.”
Dahl earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Lawrence University and a Masters of Public Policy from Georgetown University.
