Giving back: our goal to donate $1 Million a year to children’s hospitals

Peek inside the glass doors at Vivint Solar, and you’ll find that there’s no shortage of good vibes here. Whether it stems from the energetic employees or from driving a positive environmental change, the Vivint Solar community strives to always bring a little more sunshine to Silicon Slopes.

“Giving back is woven into our culture,” says David Bywater, Vivint Solar CEO. Paying it forward in the community has always been a priority for staff members here, from sponsoring toy drives to donating to various charities; so when the opportunity to partner with non-profit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals presented itself, it felt like the perfect fit.

“Our employees and their families live, work and play in each community where we operate and we’ve seen first-hand how crucial local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals are in supporting the kids in these areas,” David Bywater says.

Our goal as a company is to raise $1 million annually over the next three years for children’s hospitals in the 23 states that we are currently operating. All funds raised will be used by the local hospitals to address their greatest needs. Fundraising typically helps provide care, specialized equipment, research and therapy services not covered by insurance.

A Successful Kick-Off

Our partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals kicked off May 20th with an employee fundraising campaign at our corporate office and a goal of reaching $8,000 in donations. At the end of the week, employees worked together to surpass the goal and donate a total of $14,333. All funds raised will go directly to 27 children’s hospitals, coinciding with areas in our network.

What’s next for the partnership?

We’re excited to launch a national donation campaign with our sales representatives across the US. Our sales reps are a huge part of what we do at Vivint Solar, and we plan to aim for an even larger fund goal. Donation efforts will continue to be carried out in various campaigns to reach our $1 million-per-year goal. We look forward to helping families in need with this great cause.
